Arien, as Frederik noted in his answer, there are reasons to support those semantics in the format, rather than relying on the transport protocol. I'd go even further and say that by making those elements available, Dave was enabling the use of those features for users who don't have access to control the underlying protocol, even when the trasport protocol has the required features (ie. free web hosting). Your answer to Dave reveals, however, that you were originally trying to make a point, not actually ask a question, and I think that qualifies as giving him a hard time (I suppose it's debatable, so I'll concede that this is my opinion). Peace. This converstation is getting to be too 'meta' for me.
