Re: Guids are not just for geeks anymore!
It's a shame that RSS 2.0 calls this a GUID, but then doesn't mandate that it correspond to the historical form of a UUID / GUID. Although I understand that the field is, literally, a globally unique identifier, and that GUID is therefore a semantically appropriate name, it's an unfortunate collision with relatively widely accepted use of that acronym. Oh, well :)
