It seems a Manila-Newbies mailing list subscriber received a spam through the list and sent a report to SpamCop (which also seems to automatically be forwarded to ORDB). The list uses secure opt-in for new subscribers and only allows subscribers to post to the list; the spammer, merve68@mynet.com, was signed up as a member.

I think in the process the ORDB tests might have found an open relay in the Eudora Internet Mail Server 2.1 (which doesn't seem to provide enough configuration options to close the open relay). Even if the subscriber could revoke the report if I explain the situation or we file an appeal with SpamCop, I don't think it will resolve the ORDB block.

We have two alternate SMTP mailers setup for anyone that needs to send mail to any servers that use the ORDB service. Both servers passed a series of tests to detect an open relay.
